Welcome to the world!

Welcome Elijah!  We had a wonderful time planning your shower and we are so glad you are here.

We had lovely brunch shower.  There were tons of people and tons of gifts. ( I don’t feel sorry for Jodi and all the thank you notes she has to write!) We served these Bacon Cheddar Breakfast Muffins, fresh fruit, yogurt with granola and assorted pastries.  It was all good, including the baby.

Summer is Here!

picture from www.eighteen25.blogspot.com

Before we took off for Grace’s surgery, she was very concerned that she would be spending the WHOLE summer in the hospital and that she would miss out on all the fun.  Well,  I am happy to say that we proved her wrong!   I tried to tell her that but she didn’t quite believe me.

Now that we are home, and I turned my calendar to June, I had better get my act together or the whole summer will be gone.

SUMMER TO DO LIST!  The three sisters that have this blog, Eighteen25, have some of the cutest ideas and wonderful downloads.  It is really one you should frequent often.

So I downloaded a list for each of us girls and put them up on a bulletin board near the kitchen.  I added a  calendar for June, July and August and a few ideas to get me started.  The girls are thinking about things to add to their lists as well and I have a feeling we will run out of summer before we run out of fun stuff to do!

I also saw that Skip to My Lou  was doing  30 days of fun crafts so check that out too as you make your lists!

What do you have on your list for this summer?

Until I bake again…which is tomorrow!

The Kitchen Is Closed

Well, kind of anyway.  I managed to get all the cookies I had orders for baked, frosted and shipped in a timely fashion.   And now I am just anxiously waiting to hear if they all  arrived today and in one piece!

Cinco de Mayo or lack thereof

I think it would be great fun to have a party for Cinco de Mayo.  You really can’t go wrong with Mexican food, margaritas and Coronas at our house.  But alas, my  Cinco de Mayo festivity is limited to providing paper plates for the 4th grade Spanish class.

BUT, if I was having a party, I would be making these for sure!

Here is the link to directions for the Corona Pops over on Bakers Royale.  Check out the Strawberry Margarita Pops too!  I love creative people :)

Cookie Catch Up

Someone  left a comment the other day wondering where the pictures of the donut cookies were.  I think that it was a nice way of that someone asking if I had any left cause Dad ate them all and didn’t share. :)

So in an attempt to play catch up before I bake again tomorrow, here are some cookies from recent events.

These music notes and treble clefs were from

Briee’s Senior Recital.

The donut cookies went in Dad’s Easter basket.

On tomorrow’s agenda, cookies for grads, cookies for moms, cookies for selling your house and maybe a few others.  Stay tuned!

For your evening laugh

What is Celibacy?
Celibacy can be a choice in life, or a condition imposed by circumstances.

While attending a Marriage Weekend, Frank and his wife Ann listened to the instructor declare, “It is essential that husbands and wives know the things that are important to each other.”

He then addressed the men.
“Can you name and describe your wife's favorite flower?”
Frank leaned over, touched Ann’s arm gently, and whispered,
“Gold Medal-All-Purpose, Isn't it?”

And thus began Frank's life of celibacy.
